This Hörmann SKS photoelectric sensor receiver is a replacement part for the bottom safety device on Hörmann garage and industrial doors. The receiver has a diameter of 14 mm and is fitted with a 500 mm black connection cable.
The optosensor is suitable for use with the WA 300, WA 400, WA 400-M and ITO 400 industrial door operators. In addition, the receiver can be used within an S4 connection unit for SupraMatic garage door operators from the Series 2 and 3 ranges.
A bottom safety device prevents a closing door from trapping people, vehicles or objects. The system consists of an optosensor transmitter and an optosensor receiver. Both sensors are mounted opposite each other in the hollow bottom profile of the door.
During closing, the photoelectric sensor receiver continuously receives an infrared signal from the Transmitter. When the bottom rail is pressed down, the light beam between the two sensors is interrupted. The operator then stops the closing movement and immediately reverses the door’s movement.
If the existing photoelectric sensor receiver is faulty, it can be replaced separately. Always check the colour of the existing connection cable before ordering. This version has a black connection cable and is not compatible with photoelectric sensors fitted with a grey cable.
This photoelectric sensor is suitable for connection to a wired Hörmann S4 control unit. The receiver cannot be connected to a wireless control unit.
The S4 connection unit for anti-drop protection can be used with suitable garage doors fitted with a Hörmann SupraMatic operator from Series 2 or 3. Connection to the operator is via the HCP1 bus port.
A complete S4 anti-trap system comprises, amongst other things:
The S4 connection unit is not suitable for Series 1 operators, as these do not have an HCP1 bus connection. Nor can the system be used with doors fitted with a wicket door.
Before ordering, please check whether the existing photoelectric sensor also has a black connection cable. Photoelectric sensors with black and grey connection cables are not compatible with each other.
