Hörmann SKS optical sensor transmitter, Ø 15 mm, with a 6.5-metre connection cable. Suitable as a replacement part for the S4 anti-trap device. Read more.
The Hörmann SKS optosensor transmitter, with a diameter of 15 mm, is a replacement part for the Hörmann S4 connection unit for anti-trap protection. The transmitter is fitted into the bottom rail of a sectional door and is fitted with a 6.5-metre connection cable with a system plug.
Whilst the door is moving, the optosensor transmitter continuously sends an infrared signal to the corresponding receiver. If the bottom rail is pressed down, this signal is interrupted and the door stops moving. If the transmitter is faulty, the signal is also missing, meaning that, for safety reasons, the door will no longer function normally. This separate opto-sensor can be used to replace the faulty transmitter.
The Hörmann S4 anti-trap protection system consists of an optosensor transmitter, an optosensor receiver and a circuit board that processes the signals and transmits them to the door operator. The transmitter and receiver are positioned opposite each other in the hollow bottom profile of the sectional door.
This individual SKS transmitter is intended solely for replacing a faulty transmitter within an existing S4 safety system. When purchasing a complete Hörmann S4 connection unit, the optical sensor transmitter and optical sensor receiver are already included and do not need to be ordered separately.
The S4 connection unit can be used, amongst other things, in combination with suitable Hörmann ProMatic and SupraMatic garage door operators.
For sectional doors from the Hörmann 40 series, a Hörmann adapter sleeve may also be required. This allows the 40 series photoelectric sensor to be fitted into a 20 or 30 series bottom seal.
This Hörmann photoelectric sensor is only suitable as a replacement Transmitter for an existing S4 connection unit. Before ordering, please check that the existing safety device and connection are compatible with this model.
